Olive Oil Grove Tour & Tasting (Daily)

Take a guided tour with Floris, step-father of the groom. He has an olive tree grove and has been making olive oil and balsamic the last few years. Learn about managing an olive tree grove, the difference between edible and oil olives, and try some local samples. Make sure to ask him about Polyphenols and try to get a straight answer on just how many trees he actually has ;) Meet in the Piazza at 4:30 PM and walk ~0.5 miles down the road to visit the grove. Finish the tour by sampling some local oils and balsamic at the Rastrello in town. We recommend taking the train from your previous destination. The nearest station is located in nearby town, Chiusi, which is a short 20 minute drive from Panicale.

Nearby Town Exploration

Panicale is located perfectly on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. There are tons of nearby towns to explore on little day trips. We recommend checking out the following:

Spend the day hiking (or a quick 20 minute drive) to nearby town Citta Della Pieve from Panicale. There is a ~7 mile hike, that famous painter Pietro Vanucci (Perugino) used to take from town to town. There is a renowned painting from him in one of the homes of the city that you can make a reservation to see. Also highly recommend the following shops: - Il Pizzicagnolo (sandwich shop)-Quintosapore (Colin Firth’s vegetable shop)
